Department of Finance, designated as the Executing Agency (EA) of the project, has established a Project Management Unit (PMU) within. The PMU is headed by Project Director: Principal Secretary, DoF and supported by Deputy Project Director: Secretary, DoF and Project Coordinator. The PMU is responsible for overall leadership, guidance and coordination in project implementation and its monitoring. Its responsible for overall financial management, providing approvals for contract awards, compiling and submitting withdrawal applications to ADB, consolidating the overall progress reports prepared by PIUs. and coordinating the preparation of audits.

The key functions of the PMU are:-

  • Project performance monitoring and reporting
  • Project financial management, accounts and internal controls
  • Ensuring quality control and performance monitoring of consultants
  • Ensuring environmental, social and gender safeguards are inter-connected with all aspects of the project
